We don't see things as they are

illusion_ambiguity_lady_or_man2.gif"We don't see things as they are, we see things as WE are."

~ Quote found in David Myers' book Intuition. He attributes the quote to the Talmud. It may, however, actually be a quote by Anais Nin (as a reader suggested).

  1. Interesting. Is this a total rip-off of the original creative mind that is credited for that exact quote, Anais Nin:

Or did he give her credit in his text somewhere?

  2. Hi Richard,

Thanks for correcting me. I checked it and actually it was me who made the mistake. David Myers did not take credit for the quote. Instead he had a source which attributed it to The Talmud. Here is one source in which the quote is linked to the Talmud: http://tinyurl.com/5q5olp.

So, while you may be right that Anais Nin is the actual source of the quote (I don't know), at least there was no ripoff.

My apologies to Dave Myers and to you. Thanks for the correction.

PS. I have changed the text of the post
